Intermediate Dog Training

After completing Dog Training Basics (above) or Puppy Intermediate, this six week course introduces skill sets to gaining more fluency with previous behaviors. For example, your dog may sit and stay in your kitchen, but can they sit and stay while another dog walks by on leash? The other key focus is the introduction of “squirrel distractions.”

New Behaviors: Hand targeting, drop it, place behavior, sit/front.

Class Requirements: Completion of Basics or Puppy Intermediate, for dogs 6 months and older, proof of up to date vaccinations, paper proof of current rabies vaccination.  Class spots are limited to 3 dogs!

Advanced Dog Training

After passing Intermediate dog training (above), this six week course continues onto higher levels of “Squirrel Distractions.” For example, dog instantly recalls to handler from a piece of steak dangling in front of their nose.

New Behaviors: Precision heeling, adding distance to cues asked, sit or down in motion, calmly sitting on leash while greeting people.

Class Requirements: Completion of Intermediate, for dogs 1 year and older, proof of up to date vaccinations, paper proof of current rabies vaccination.  Class spots are limited so please visit here to see class start dates and enrollment options.

Complete Dog Training

$151

After passing Advanced, this six week course maximizes the real world dog situations. Three of the six classes will take place off-site at highly distracting locations. The key focus is to achieve reward delivery at the end of a highly distracting session. For example, sit or down stay in front of a grocery store on a busy weekend.

New Behaviors: Recalls in parking lots past people and dogs, long duration sit/down stays in highly distracting environments, maintaining manners on leash in the presence of other dogs, maintaining manners on leash while handlers talk to each other (dogs are 3 to 5 feet apart during conversation).

Class Requirements: Completion of Advanced, for dogs 1 year and older, proof of up to date vaccinations, paper proof of current rabies vaccination.  Class spots are limited so please visit here to see class start dates and enrollment options.

"Littles" Training

$151

Have you ever noticed that “little” dogs sometimes respond differently than bigger dogs or, more so, how differently people treat them?  When big dogs jump people do not like getting knocked over, but when little dogs do we encourage it (yet can have the same negative results). In this class, we will learn to teach them things like sit, down, stay, loose leash walking and location behaviors. We'll also work on confidence building, and ways for Littles to get the mental and physical energy outlets they need. This class will have a maximum of 4 little dogs. Dog should be under 20 lbs to enroll (email us if you're not sure your dog will “fit” into this class).

Littles Class Requirements: Attendance at a free Orientation is encouraged, for dogs 6 months and older, size appropriate, proof of up to date vaccinations, paper proof of current rabies vaccination. Class spots are limited to 4 dogs!
